Hi! My cellphone vpn app (I use psiphone) disconnects when I turn screen off

I use psiphone to stay connected to my messenger apps but when I turn screen off it disconnects. I used other vpn apps all disconnected. I have galaxy a52017

my s8+ doesn't discoonects so I wonder why this other phone gets disconnected
