Oops - I meant unlimited picture messaging, not text messaging.

I have already gone through all of this; I came across this page in yet another attempt at finding software compatible with the LG 2000.
Here's the info I've got:
*I was able to get a USB cable for this phone from e-bay; unfortunately, the software is NOT compatible with the phone, so basically the only thing the cable is good for is for charging the phone.
*There doesn't seem to be ANY software in existance - if you happen to find some, don't get your hopes up, it won't do the things you'll want it to do (unless you only want it to load your contact list to your PC).
*LG has software on their website, but the LG 2000 is pretty much the only model not listed for compatibility. A Fido customer service rep who said he used to be a technician told me that the LG software should work even if this model is not listed, after all, it IS an LG phone. Only, wasting $10 for a cable is one thing, I'm not willing to waste another $39.99, plus tax and shipping.
I've resigned myself to the fact that I made a mistake. I've learned my lesson, in the future I will do my research before buying. At least I only paid $30 for the phone because I signed another contract with Fido, and along with it I got 6 months of unlimited text messaging. I haven't received my bill yet, so I'll have to see if they do charge me for all the pictures I e-mailed myself. It is a nice phone, it's just really disappointing that they've nabbed so many people with this problem. All just to make another buck, eh?

Okay, I'm confused.
I bought my wife an LG 2000 without realizing this would be an issue.

We really don't care about uploading anything to the phone, but it's really important to us to be able to download photos. I haven't heard anything specific about this yet.

We use Fido prepaid-can't send the photos to the web album they offer. I guess it's for contract holders only.

Will having a data cable allow us to get the pics off the phone? Will we need software, or drivers, and where do they come from? LG canada is useless on this issue, Fido of course won't help.

OR, if that's out, does anyone know if we can send the pics to another phone that does support downloading? Fido pre-paid info is unclear about sending pics.

Thanks.

Any one got the software to use with the USB cable ?

I have some software form another LG 1100 phone... i can use it for the PC Sync (for contact list)... but to transfert music (mp3, mid) or pic... it doesnt work... so anyone got an idea ??

LG 2000 Help

Samantha,

I think you will find what you seek here.

Samantha,

Geekgrrl's right. the lg 2000 is usb compatiable. unfortunately fido isn't supporting the data cable and probably won't be. they want you to send all your images over the air and pay data transfer fees. sneaky. sneaky.

luckily there are after market company's selling data cables for the lg 2000. i don't think you'll find one at future shop or london drugs. try some fo the larger cell phone specialty shops or look online.

if you search google for lg 2000 data cables and poke around you'll find the thing you need.

p.s. you can search google right at the top right corner of this page.

Sami,
Your phone has USB connectivity. The cable is probably the same kind that is used to connect a camera to your computer.

Specs on your phone are here:
