Why won't GPS work properly on the LG L50?

The GPS on my L50 seems to have stopped working, not long ago I tried it and it soon picked up my home location, but since then it does not find any other locations, any ideas why this could be?

I've tried several apps, Google maps, Memory Map, and also several speedometer apps.
I have also been in touch with LG who said if it was bought from a dealer in the last 12 months we will fix/replace it. Problem is I got it from a dealer on eBay and now cannot find any record of the purchase.. ?????????? :-(

One more thing, which app are you using with GPS?

Hmm... Looks like a faulty GPS. Have it checked by technician and also check if there's an update on the phone. A fix may be released via updates.

Hi Carl,
Yes I've tried that but like using the phone location, it just jumps from place to place as I move about and non of the locations are accurate, often up to half a mile from y actual position. I think it must be that the GPS function of the phone is just not working at all.

Yeah, I agree. Looks like the GPS is not picking up well. Have you tried using GPS while connected to internet? It sure does improve picking up location.

Hi Carl, I have tried in the same area and several other locations, the annoying thing is that my old LG phone, an E340 works well and picks up a new location easily, whilst the L50 alongside refuses to show anything but my home location.
When I allow it to use the phone network it does manage to get a rough location but then just changes in a series of jumps as it gets different fixes. No good at all when you are trying to find your way and it puts you in the middle of a field.
To me that means that the GPS function is not working at all.

Hi Dave. It may be having a hard time picking up the signal to locate you. Are you still in the same area since the last you used it?
