Doesn't work otg cable on htc desire 626 g + i would try to somany otg camble it doesn't work

Certainly the otg function does NOT work in the UK spec/Andriod 6 version.  After 3 emails to HTC support (no responses!); a couple of web chat sessions ("we'll get back to you" - but they never do) and finally a phone call HTC confirmed that the 626 does not support otg - regardless of what is says in the owner manual and elsewhere on the web.
