Hi David, this usually means that a phone isn't connected to the network somehow. You can try restarting the phone to see if it fixes thing, but if it doesn't, then try to manually select your network to connect to it. You can do it through the Settings menu. Go to Settings > More... > Mobile networks > Network operators to make the selection.
