Text messaging when switching from AT&T

I am about to switch from AT&T to CC. Will I need to change any settings on my Pixel 6a to retain my existing text messages or send/receive new messages?

Hi Dave. Text messages are saved locally on your phone so don't worry about that. There's also no need to make any changes on the settings.

Sorry - I should have spelled out Consumer Cellular rather than abbreviating it to "CC".
