My zte valet wont let me make a call or send a message my data is not used up and my contract is still going i turned it off and back on but it still wont let me do anything?

my phone turns off after a couple of minutes well i am talking to someone . has just had 25 dollars put in it.bought it in2015 used for a month. then went on holidays. now back i put 25 dollars into it. and that is what it is doing. is thier a quick fix.
