How to turn off voice notification on the Samsung Gusto 3?

Voice tells you what screen it is and what the button functions are. I'm not blind so I don't need the voice to tell these things. It is most annoying.

Thanks to all of you for this thread...this is my first cell phone and I couldn't figure out how to lower the volume, scroll, or basically anything.  I was starting to yell "shutup" at the nagging voice that came on (at a high volume) every time I pushed any button.  This thread gave me the fortitude to keep trying, (and put the hammer back into the tool box).

How to turn off annoying naggy voice! Go to Menu > Settings > Accessibility > Full Readout . You will see that the radio button next to On is selected. Press metal ring around the OK button on the phone at the bottom to select Off. No more annoying naggy voice! Hallelujah!

How can I get the old contacts from another cellphone - the one prior to the upgrade I have now? I now have a Samsung Gusto 3.

BTW, thank goodness for the answer to Carl P. above. I was nearly crazy to get the voice off!

I'm sorry, I believe I misread the question. Try this instead:

1. From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key MenuSettingsAccessibilityEasy Set-up.
2. Follow the screen prompts to choose settings for Full Readout, Menu Readout, Digit Dial Readout, Alert Readout, TXT Message Readout, Browser Readout, and Flip Open & Talk.
3. Select a speech rate for reading (Fast, Medium Fast, Normal, Medium Slow, or Slow).

Please let me know how it goes. :)

1. From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key Menu ➔ Settings ➔ Call ➔TTY Mode.
2. At the prompt “Enabling TTY will disable headset audio. Continue?”, use the Directional Key to highlight Yes and press .
3. On the TTY MODE screen, use the Directional Key to highlight a TTY mode and press SET to select it: Choose TTY Off
